Staff & Vacancies

Our staff team of teachers and teaching assistants are highly experienced in the provision of education for students who are unable to work within a mainstream setting: They have a wealth of special education experience and are fully trained in effective behaviour management techniques.

Our staff are subject to a thorough and robust vetting system and undergo a detailed induction and training program in order to ensure that they are prepared to work to the high standards that we demand.

About our school
Seadown is a small, popular independent school for up to 31 pupils with varying academic
abilities who have an EHCP for SEMH, ADHD, Dyslexia and Autism to name but a few. We
adopt an attachment aware and trauma-informed, whole school approach to improving the
mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. The 4Rs (regulate, relate, reason
and repair) and PACE are at the heart of all we do at Seadown.
Our experienced and committed staff are dedicated to offering the best possible learning
experience tailored to each pupil’s individual needs. We recognise the importance of
developing pupils academically whilst also placing the same emphasis on helping them grow
in line with our school values of respect, co-operation, curiosity and resilience.
Our school was inspected by Ofsted in July 2024 achieving a ‘Good’ standard overall.

Support members play an important role in helping to create a stimulating, safe and
structured environment for pupils with complex needs.
Our Pastoral team work both within the classroom, proactively supporting pupils’ self-regulation and through structured interventions including Theraplay, Lego Therapy, SEMH
support and Jump Ahead. They also play a vital role in supporting pupils to reflect on
periods of dysregulation to reduce further incidents and repair relationships that may be
impacted as a result. Our Pastoral Team work with pupils and the SENCo to create/review
individual Pupil Behaviour Support plans and risk assessments.
