School Closure Procedure

In the event of school closure, for example for emergencies linked to weather, heating or water issues etc, our decision will be communicated to you as promptly as possible and by 7:30am wherever possible. The decision to close temporarily will be made by the Headteacher in conjunction with the Senior Leadership and Directors following a risk assessment process, subject to a number of factors.

This decision will be communicated with you in the following ways:

  • By Arbor (email) alert

  • On our school website

  • Using local radio

In the event of a school closure we will contact local authority school Transport Teams. There are a number of communications we need to make to ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed of a school closure. For this reason we ask that you do not contact the school office or individual members of staff to ask if the school will be open or not as this will delay the communication process to relevant parties.

In the event of a closure, we will provide information as soon as possible regarding re-opening information. Wherever possible you will be provided with details of remote learning.
