Physical activities:

Physical actives are a key part of school life here at Seadown, important for both physical and emotional health. We look to incorporate movement throughout our school day with pupils’ engagement in the Daily Mile, sensory activities, movement breaks and sensory circuits are also being available to pupils.

Each week pupils participate in a physical activity, whether that be swimming lessons, trampolining, or Forest Schools. In addition, there are further active opportunities for pupils to take part in, including personal training, boxing and horse riding. At the end of every term, classes enjoy an active day trip out that they themselves choose. Examples our pupils have enjoyed so far include, Fishers Farm Park, Out of Bounds, Laserquest, Jumpin Fun, Lodge Hill and Flip Out.

Our pupils enjoy joining other schools for active events such as football tournaments and MENCAP fun day. Our Sports Leaders help organise activities for our annual Sports day.

Onsite we have a fantastic trim trail and football area for our pupils and a great range of equipment for use at outside break and lunchtime. We are excited about the creation of our new hall as part of our building work, which will further extend our physical activities offer through options such as yoga and dance.
